Gibeon Meteorite fell in prehistoric times in Namibia, Africa. The meteorite created a debris field 171 miles long by 62 miles wide.
Turquoise, the opaque cousin to lapis lazuli, is one of the oldest gemstones known. Its robin’s egg color has been highly valued and worn by Egyptian Pharaohs and Aztec Kings. It was first sent to Europe through Turkey, hence its name, which means "Turkish" in French. Since about 200 B.C., both southwestern U.S. Native Americans and many Indian tribes in Mexico used Turquoise extensively. This meteorite wedding band inlaid with Lapis Lazuli is one of my first one of a kind rings.
